January 27, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
Women worldwide on average spend almost five hours each week on personal grooming, while men spend just over three hours, according to GfK. Data from the German market research firm revealed 60 percent of respondents said their main reason for trying to look their best is “to feel good about themselves,” with 44 percent saying “making a good impression on people they meet for the first time” as their main reason, and 40 percent citing “setting a good example for their children.” Italians spend more than five and a half hours per week on average, while Chinese spend less than three hours per week.
